Technologies for the Forestry Industry
From monitoring level measurement in wood chip bins to remotely monitoring silo measurements, HAWK has designed a wide range of technologies for the forestry industry. HAWK’s level sensors provide precise and continuous measurement with the ability to auto-calibrate and remotely setup. Recently, HAWK's Sultan Acoustic Wave Transmitter was installed at a large sawmill company in northern Canada. The customer wanted to automate the truck pickup of theirwood chips and needed reliable and continuous measurements of their wood chip bin. The instrumentation had to withstand extremely cold weather conditions, rugged enough to ignore constant falling wood chips, be CSA GP approved, and have HART communication for networking and remote monitoring/programming. HAWK provided them the Sultan Acoustic Wave Transmitter. The Sultan met every criteria and exceeded their expectations. They were so satisfied with the results that they placed an order for 82 more devices.
