Application:
600º High-Pressure Coal Seam Gas (CSG) wellhead separators installed in remote locations throughout Queensland’s (Australia) coal fields. Separator design calls for a 1.1-meter probe length to detect liquid level. Separators are on a re-deployable skid and the guided wave radar is part of a suite of instruments provided by Yokogowa, the Main instrument Vendor (MIV) required for the separator’s efficient operation.
The difficulty of application lay in the requirement for an IECEx Zone 0/1 Ex d Approval due to the explosive potential separator. The pressure of the vessel was also a consideration as a design pressure of 40 Bar was also required.
Inflow into the separator consists of Oil, Water, Sludge, Drill Mud, and CSG. Output requirement was a 4-20mA with HART Loop powered Device with local indicator.
